Pan ist der Name, welcher im 19. Jahrhundert einem angeblichen Kontinent im Pazifik (Abb. 1) gegeben wurde, der vor vielen tausend Jahren überflutet worden sein soll. [1] Bezug genommen wird darauf in Oahspe - A New Bible [2], ein Elaborat, das durch 'automatic writing' produziert wurde. Dr. Henry S. Tanner, bekannt geworden durch sein 40-tägiges Fasten, war offenbar ein Student Oahspes, der behauptete, Pan sei bisweilen irrtümlich Atlantis genannt worden. Tanner war außerdem ein aktiver Mormone. Jedenfalls nahm er es mit Details nicht allzu genau. So beschrieb er Tristan da Cunha als in der pazifischen Südsee liegend, während es sich tatsächlich im Südatlantik befindet.
Die Vorstellung von Pan ist jetzt von Suzan B. Martinez, einer amerikanischen Linguistin und Erforscherin des Paranormalen, in einem neuen Buch mit dem Titel The lost Continent of Pan [3] wiederbelebt worden. Die Autorin ist übermäßig beeinflusst von dem äußerst fragwürdigen Inhalt von Oahspe und hat nichts anderes getan, als Mu durch Pan zu ersetzen.
